Description

I planned to make fanart of Saint Seiya, then I deviated a kilometer away from it and made my own stuff :D
This is my best digital drawing of all time and I'm so excited! :happybounce:

Merry Critmas from the Samurai Snowmen!

Vision: A fisherman trying to catch his dinner and a merman (or water-breathing superhero?) maybe about to take his lure or help him out. Aside from not knowing what the merman intends, I like the double-image concept.

Originality: Interesting characters, a surprising situation and a cool image shape.

Technique: The triple-oval framing is very cool and feels like an eye – maybe a cat's eye? The angle looks a little strange, with the fisherman tilted back and the mountain background tilted forward, but it gets the idea across. And since the background above is detailed, I wonder why the background below is so featureless. Maybe mirror the above world with an underwater shoreline, some undersea mountains and a kelp forest? Otherwise, great art where nothing sticks out or seems wrong

Impact: The bored expression of the fisherman is pretty clear, but I'm not sure what emotion the merman is supposed to be evoking, either kindness or mischief. I don't know what's going to happen next, which gives the image kind of a static state.
